Halong Bay - Lagoon Explorer

One of the highlights of our Vietnam trip was an overnight cruise in Halong Bay on the Lagoon Explorer. Halong Bay is a UNESCO World Heritage site with over two thousand amazing limestone islands - just like in Guilin, China. The place is certainly not off the beaten path - its PACKED with tourists and tour boats. We picked this one after extensive research because it only has four cabins. The cabins are air conditioned and each has a private bathroom. The food was also great - the two lunches and one dinner were all epic events. We had a great time with the two other couples. They were from Hong Kong and London and our age and simliar backgrounds. In the short time we were on the boat, we somehow drank eight bottles of white wine (plus other drinks). The crew seemed dismayed at our ability to drink!
