Say hello to Diego, nephew number two!!

He was born yesterday at 10:15am. After putting mom through hell all night, doctors finally did a C-Section, but mom and baby are good. In his father's words: I'm not being subjective, but I've never seen a more beautiful baby! LOL...I'm glad he's not subjective :-)

Coach! About time for a new design...good for them

A tangerine tie-dye clutch with a rhinestone closure. A snow-white ski hobo bag with fur trim. A royal blue python satchel.

This is not your mother's Coach handbag.

The 65-year-old maker of sturdy leather purses is pushing into fashionable designer territory, going up against the likes of Louis Vuitton, Prada and Gucci in the race to tap into women's insatiable appetite for chic handbags.

Just a decade ago, it would have been difficult to imagine such audacity from the old-fashioned company that relied on descendants of George Washington, J.P. Morgan, Mark Twain and other famous Americans to advertise its bags. But since spinning off from Sara Lee Corp. in 2000, Coach Inc. has found new life as a fashion icon.

Declaring there aren't enough grocery stores in the Chicago region, a Milwaukee-based supermarket chain says it plans to plant its flag with a new west Lincoln Park store and follow it with a rapid expansion in 2008.

Roundy's Supermarkets Inc., which tried to enter Chicago market four years ago through an unsuccessful acquisition of the Dominick's supermarket chain, announced Monday that it would come to Chicago on its own by opening its first store in the Clybourn Avenue-North Avenue retail corridor.

The company did not give a time frame on the first store. But, during the next three years, the chain said it would open as many as a dozen stores here and offer employment to about 2,000 people. It currently operates 153 stores, mainly in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Ironic birthday card...

Found out yesterday, that my overachieving self did not just scratch one cornea, but got multiple scratches on BOTH corneas. So I'm on a cocktail blend of ointments and drops. Apparently, because it's been so cold, my eyes didn't tear up enough to flush out any foreign matter. Love waiting for the CTA. Wonder if I can get them to reimburse. Tempting. Anyway, and then this morning, Susse sends my ebday card. I thought it was pretty ironic...
