Rick Bayless Live

Me Kunal and Manish had dinner at Frontera Grill tonight and Rick Bayless was at the restaurant. He ended up sitting right in front of us and Manish told him that we loved his food and enjoy watching his shows. He seems very much an introvert and a very nice man. He came in to see how the restaurant was doing and had dinner with his wife in his own restaurant. Waht a way to end the night.

It amazes me what nature can create. :) Found this while walking up and down the shore of Lake Michigan in the Illinois Beach State Park. Coincidentally, part of a Flickr group collecting hearts for another member. Boy, was I grinning when I found this one. Even though I follow the "leave only footprints, take only memories" hiking/camping adage, I had to take this one with me. Mine's been broken so many times, and this one only has a tiny chip. :)

In one of the more unlikely (and opulent) demonstrations of civil disobedience, a handful of restaurants here that never carry foie gras, the fattened livers of ducks and geese, featured it on the very day that Chicago became the first city in the nation to outlaw sale of the delicacy. I did it! And I even sprinted the last bit, uber strong. :) The numbness resurfaced again at mile 3, but after a brief stop, I think I figured out how to manage it. When that happens, I need to take off my shoes and let the swelling go down. I'll never run a marathon, but this five mile run took off three pounds of water weight, lol :)

Definitely doing this again next year, and hope you guys cheer me on. Helps a lot that last mile!

Eva and I are visiting my cousins in DC. We are having a great time checking out the various neighborhoods, monuments, and museums. This is my first time checking out the very impressive World War II Memorial. It is on the other end of the reflecting pool from the Lincoln Memorial.

C'mon! You know you want to! American Grafitti was pretty good, glad I saw it. One of those slice of life movies, a bit like Breakfast Club. Michelle even caught that Harrison Ford was in it, wearing a cowboy hat.

This is just so insanely impressive, three Japanese folks put together a domino chain of junk...literally anything that would fall over, and then wound it through their apartment, around their tub, over their urinal, through the kitchen, it is seriously hysterical.

Definitely worth a couple minutes of your life.
