Must be Manish...

Just scrolled down and started laughing when I saw this. It HAS to be because of Manish!!

Clever Cafeteria Eaters

This is hysterical. Back at the unit one cafeteria in berkeley, I used to make spaghetti with peanut sauce using the microwave. this guy takes it a step further! That's the difference between Yalies and Bezerkelies.

"AS students streamed into a towering Gothic dining hall at Yale University last week, appraising the plats du jour on a cafeteria buffet, one of their classmates was concocting his own sauce from peanut butter and a dark liquid.

“You have to be careful with the sesame oil,” cautioned the student, Zach Marks, a self-described dining hall gastronome. “Too much of this and the texture gets watery.”

After mixing in some soy sauce, Mr. Marks, a sophomore from Philadelphia, reached for curry powder and swirled in a pinch, followed by a little dried ginger and dried coriander.

“Hey Zach, what’s that you’re making tonight?” asked Marvin Cunningham, a kitchen worker.

“Appetizers of chicken satay, and some tikka masala,” Mr. Marks replied, never diverting his eyes from the oeuvre in progress."

The further adventures of thu....Anais

Here's a good one. I brought Vivi over to Michelle's place to keep Anais company while her mommy is gone. As soon as I open Vivi's carrier, they automatically start playing. Good so far.

One of their favorite games is chase-and-destroy. Anais tackles Vivi, Vivi squashes Anais. (Vivi's about three pounds bigger.) Same ol, same ol. But wait, this is funny.

In the latest bout, Vivi leapt onto the glass coffee table and laid down nonchalantly. Good strategy. Thup...I mean...Anais dashes underneath the coffee table in hot pursuit and promptly slams her head on the glass trying to get at Vivi.

Genius.

But wait, there's more. I was about to clean out the litter when this happened, so I left one of those plastic garbage bags on the floor next to me as I typed out this entry. Thup...Anais somehow got into the bag, and instead of backing out of it like most normal cats would, figured that if she kept walking forward, she'd eventually find her way out of the bag. She's still running around with a bag over her head.

Vivi has no idea what to do about this.

We don't need no stinkin' husband!

For what experts say is probably the first time, more American women are living without a husband than with one, according to a New York Times analysis of census results.

In 2005, 51 percent of women said they were living without a spouse, up from 35 percent in 1950 and 49 percent in 2000....

Several factors are driving the statistical shift. At one end of the age spectrum, women are marrying later or living with unmarried partners more often and for longer periods. At the other end, women are living longer as widows and, after a divorce, are more likely than men to delay remarriage, sometimes delighting in their newfound freedom.

What this proves, is that there are fewer and fewer good men out there... :)

Hello from Thailand!

Feels like divine intervention is preventing me from being wired...left the power cord for my laptop in San Diego and my cell phone, after working perfectly for 5 days, wont let me send outbound text messages anymore. Anyway, having an incredible time. We spent all yesterday in Krabi snorkeling around the islands, being taken from spot to spot by a speedboat. Today I think were kayaking (yay Michelle!) We return to Bangkok tonight, go to the big market tomorrow morning, then drive to Hua Hin for the wedding. Alright, no more paying 1 baht per minute for internet access, Im off to breakfast!
